Jacksonville Housing and Credit Counseling Services, Inc. is a 501 c 3 non-profit organization founded in 2013. Harold J. Riley is President & CEO, a retired military veteran with more than 20 years of housing and credit counseling experience. Our organization is committed to helping individuals and families achieve financial stability. We offer a variety of services, including housing counseling, rental assistance, budgeting, credit counseling, and financial literacy. Our services are available to anyone in need, regardless of income.

Jacksonville Housing and Credit Counseling Services offers personal one-on-one intensive counseling to those seeking to purchase a home, save a home, or in need of rental assistance. We are also offer financial literacy workshops to groups at local businesses, civic organizations, and churches. Jacksonville Housing and Credit Counseling Services is dedicated to providing home buyers and homeowners with high quality counseling.
Homebuyers Club
If you have less than perfect credit, then you know that it can be difficult to find a homeownership solution that works for you. The Jacksonville Housing and Credit Counseling Homebuyers Club offers participants a chance to explore a real possibility of homeownership. The ultimate goal is to encourage Homebuyer Club participants to save towards downpayment on a home and not depend solely on programs or special incentives. Homebuyers will have the tools and knowledge required to prepare for the mortgage application and approval process. Participants will work with counselors to:
- Determine whether or not homeownership is the right option at present
time.
- Understand the homebuying process.
- Establish a monthly household budget and homebuying action plan. - Develop a savings plan aimed at resolving credit issues or establishing credit.
- Work with realtors to assist in locating the right home. Understanding the
importance of a home inspection and home warranty.
- Find the right financing terms and interest rate.
- Protect your most valuable investment.
- Access community and neighborhood DPA Programs if applicable.
